Since Giving My Life to God….

I woke up this morning, thanked Jesus for another day as I always do, and then opened my Bible app to meditate on the Word. Today, the verse of the day is so powerful. After reading it, the Holy Spirit spoke. Somebody, somewhere needs to hear and read this right NOW.  Someone is ready to throw in the towel on doing what’s right.  Someone is ready to give up this whole living for God thing because things haven’t gotten better since  starting. In fact, things seems to have gotten worse.

Verse of The Day
A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. (‭Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭10‬ NLT)
I remember when I was out doing any and everything. Drinking and clubbing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Indulging in sex. Plotting and doing all kinds of evil against others. Causing “ruckus” in folks relationships and marriages. Disrespecting my parents. Cursing and wanting to fight anyone who wrongly crossed me. My heart was so ugly and I was one the most selfish persons ever. I was all for Erica. I was so comfortable in my sin and did not have a conscious whatsoever.
As I think back to those days, I don’t remember having a bad or off day. I woke up happy and went to bed happy. I was living the life, or so I thought. Everyday was a new day of “fun” and “adventure.” I woke up looking forward to indulge in the next level of sin.
It wasn’t until I gave my WHOLE life to Christ that I started having “bad” and “off” days. I remember even crying out to God one day saying, “I’ve given my life to you and now I’m going through HELL. When I was doing my own thing, I didn’t go through any of  this.”
How many of you have ever felt this way?
So many times we look around and we see those who aren’t even remotely close to living righteous being “blessed” and “prospering.” Then we look at ourselves or others  who are trying to live according to God’s will seem to be never getting blessings or able to prosper.
Let me tell you- The enemy gives blessing and sends opportunities to prosper as well.
You’re constantly being attacked because the devil lost you and he’s upset and mad as HELL that you turned on him for God. Do not become weary in doing what’s right. In due time, you’ll reap.
So, don’t get discouraged. Like the scripture says, I’d rather be just a gate keeper with my God than enjoying the “good life” with Satan.
God sees your sacrifices, and He values the change you’ve made. Your worst day with God is better than your best day without Him.
